Driver monitoring · Developed in Algeria

Alerts you when drowsiness or distraction sets in.

A small camera-based device we’re building for the cars already on the road, for everyday drivers, taxis and fleets. Our prototype already works.

The problem

Attention fades. The road doesn’t.

A longer blink. A glance away. Small changes can become a moment of risk. That is the problem EyRoad is working on.

Working prototype

Real hardware. A working beginning.

What the prototype is not

It is not yet final commercial hardware, automotive-certified, production-ready, available to buy, or validated at fleet scale.

What EyRoad monitors

What it looks for. How it responds.

EyRoad interprets visible driver behaviour from a driver-facing camera. It does not diagnose fatigue — it looks for patterns associated with reduced attention.

Signs being monitored

Drowsiness
Visible signs such as slower, heavier blinking.
Prolonged eye closure
Eyes staying closed longer than a normal blink.
Driver distraction
Attention drawn away from the driving task.
Looking away from the road
Gaze held away from the road ahead.
Head and attention behaviour
Head position and movement associated with inattention.

Under investigationYawning and phone-related distraction are being investigated. They will only be offered where detection proves reliable.

How it works

  1. Camera

A driver-facing camera observes the face and eyes.

  2. Edge processing

Video is processed locally, in real time — on the prototype, a Jetson Nano.

  3. Driver-state analysis

Computer vision interprets eye, gaze and head behaviour.

  4. Alert

The system is designed to warn the driver immediately.

Working today — This exists now as a working proof-of-concept.Drowsiness and distraction indicators are demonstrated on the proof-of-concept under development conditions. Detection has not yet been validated in vehicles.

Better journeys begin with people.

Drivers

Built for vehicles already on the road.

EyRoad is being developed as an aftermarket driver-monitoring solution for drivers who want an additional layer of awareness against fatigue and distraction.

Privacy

Awareness should start with trust.

EyRoad is being designed around privacy-conscious driver monitoring, including investigation of on-device processing approaches that can reduce unnecessary transmission of driver imagery.

Read the privacy approach
01Today
The prototype runs computer-vision processing on the Jetson Nano development board on the bench. It is a development setup, not a deployed product architecture.
02Intended
The commercial system is intended to favour on-device processing so that driver imagery does not need to be transmitted unnecessarily.
03Under development
Storage, connectivity, retention and fleet-data architecture are not finalised. We will publish specifics when they are decided, not before.
